My Favourite Flower Shots for Mother's Day

Image
In celebration of Mother's Day, I've selected some of my favourite flower shots. Sharing them here and thinking that even if we could gather all the flowers in the world, they still would not be enough to express our gratitude to all the great moms out there! Happy Mother's Day especially to my mom who truly loves flowers and plants, and takes genuine pride in and pleasure from the blooms in her garden. TulipMania 2014, Gardens by the Bay Maldives. This flower that had just fallen off from its bough stood out from the pristine whiteness of the sand. Along a street in Amsterdam, where hydrangeas seem to abound. Glad to see them in natural bloom, and not just in a vase. On the doorstep of a temple in Little India, Singapore Foxglove near the gate of a temple in Bumthang, Bhutan Lotus pond, Bay East Side, Singapore. Inspired by the black and white challenge on Facebook, I thought I'd put together some of my favourite black and white photos and share them here: Looking out into the Indian Ocean - Bali From inside a temple in Chail, a hill station near the Indian Himalayas Truly a great wonder - Taj Mahal, Agra in India This could be anywhere...but it is actually in front of the Jim Thompson House, Bangkok It mentions the Philippines? The facade of a hotel near La Rambla, Barcelona The serrated mountains of Montserrat, Spain Barcelona Winter Somewhere in Shanghai...why am I not surprised ;-) A man passing by a church (?)  in Shanghai Sun-salute in Maldives On the shores of Maldives...I could spend the rest of my days here...with a good book of course Windows along Madison Avenue -out here they seem to close shop early -it was not that late in the afternoon when I took this photo..or maybe I'm just used to the loooong hours in Asia ...

Maldives: A Most Chilled-Out Destination

Image
Maldives is one of the most beautiful places I've been to. The few days I'd spent there were some of the best days of my life. I will let the photos speak for themselves:) Sunset at Anchorage Bar, while waiting for the shark feeding What an inviting sight Well-combed road to the village huts This must be sunrise The sharks know exactly when to come for their feeding, without a watch or a bell to remind them Dinner site on Fridays We were too sleepy to see these torches lit up Sundown at the boardwalk Hibiscus abound, in all colors Some variety of coconut trees Too early for the "Occupy Loungers" brigade And here's the leader of them all What refreshing drinks --- not ours... #FullMoonResort #Maldives #Sheraton
